Seventh Day Adventists General Conference Opens in Washington
Thousands of delegates from the Columbia Union Conference gather at the Washington Foreign Mission Seminary grounds for a 24 day session. The May 4 meeting will run through June 8 with D C Wilkinson presiding as reports from Pennsylvania New Jersey Maryland Delaware Ohio Virginia and the District are delivered. Delegates and visitors from many nationalities fill the tents on the grounds.

Annual Trip To Hold Right Of Way Pilgrimage
Bruford Virginia May 2 A pilgrimage over the narrow gauge Pennsylvanic Rail road in the city was made with men aboard a car drawn by a lone horse. Road Supervisor H J Jolie, chief engineer Patrick Jaden, and conductor Joseph Brown officiated. The trip tested the line as the company preserves its franchise and contemplates a Bradford line, entering the city over the I R and P route from Riverside.

Fire destroys Salamanca moulding shop. losses near $100
Salamanca May 20 The moulding shop of the Salamanca Engine Tron company Rochester street was entirely destroyed by fire origin at building front unknown. Loss to building and contents estimated about $100 with machinery and patents all total loss. Firemen aided by strong water pressure prevented damage to adjacent structures. Fancher Furniture Works sustained slight water damage from sprinkler system.
