Corry voters backed Palmer for U S Senate McCormick for Governor and Lauderbaugh for Congress in yesterday's primary, with solid showings for Re-Organization candidates. Local wards reported varied margins. Auer beat Lyons in the 2nd Ward 48 to 21, while Dempsey led Lat Dist 32 to 26, and other races showed mixed results.

United Press counts show Palmer and McCormick poised for U S Senate nominations in Pennsylvania’s direct primary across parties. Penrose leads Dimmick by over 100000. Pinchot as Bull Moose candidate faced no opposition. Brumbaugh tops Cauffiel for governor by about 125000. McCormick and Palmer lead for governor and lieutenant governor races with Creary and McClain also winning. Pennsylvanian voters reaffirm old guard strength in Harrisburg, Philadelphia and the state.
Special to the Erie paper reports returns received by noon, noting M. Liebel Jr. won the Democratic nomination for Congress by about a four to five hundred margin over Lauderbaugh, with seventeen districts outstanding. Hopkins tops Helth for Assembly, while Palmer and McCormick lead in Meadville county races. rural turnout appears light.
The forecast calls for generally fair conditions tonight and tomorrow with slight temperature variation. No significant precipitation expected. Monty weather notes show mild winds and dry air across the region.
The installation of one new Astey pipe organ at First Methodist Church progresses rapidly with factory representatives at work. The organ will fill the north space of the auditorium and is described as an exquisite instrument. completion is expected by Saturday night though not ready for use next Sunday. A recital by Sutherland Dwight Smith, a noted Pittsburgh organist, is planned for one week from Friday evening with a talk on organ development from earliest instruments to modern pipes.
Local merchants debate a weekly half holiday by closing stores Wednesday afternoons in June, July, and August. Committees canvassed all city grocers, receiving broad support, with talks of expanding the idea to other trades though no formal agreement yet.
