Council Briefs Review of late council actions and votes
City Council spent the night outlining Wayne street sewer work then accepted Arthur Pledger resignation from the Planning Commission as he moves to Dunbar West Virginia. The salary of City Solicitor Rozelle was read for a second time at 1800 dollars yearly. A revised zoning ordinance is being typed for Planning Commission review with hearings to follow. A 256.31 bill to Wiggers Garage for storage on a 1948 car was paid after the owner refused to claim the vehicle. The council criticized staff for the unresolved car storage and debated radio bid awards which finally went to R L Lewis Meadville at 2598.50. Parking meter posts have been removed and settlements with the installer near completion. Bids for park walks will be advertised and consideration given to repairing planted city strips damaged by vandals. A county court case panel was proposed with five judges from Dauphin, Cumberland and Perry counties and bonds ordered for attorneys to cover costs. The Musmanno trial shows Blatt trailing by large margins in the completed counties.
