New State Court of Appeals Affirms Bus Company Verdict

May 19 report states the New Weee State Court of Appeals upheld a $7,500 verdict against a bus company in a negligence case involving Norma W Gates of Jamestown. The Supreme Court jury verdict dated December 10, 1948, was challenged after a fatal bus collision on January 6, 1949, at Route 172 near Wicks Avenue and Lakewood Road, with testimony accusing the driver of fault. Lawyers Michael Lombards and Clarence G Pickard appealed to the Appellate Division Fourth Department, which reversed and reinstated the Court of Appeals ruling, finalizing the verdict in favor of the plaintiff.
