Crash Not Serious At High School Near Corry Area High School
Tragedy was narrowly averted in a collision near Corry Area High School. Chester B. Pless, 20, of Spencer Road Corry allegedly ran a stop sign at East South Street and Avenue A, striking an open pickup owned by Roger M. Smith, 85, of Union City. Smith and his son Roger Smith Jr., 12, were treated and released at Corry Memorial Hospital. Two other children were in the cab. one child in the back was unharmed. Neighbors say speeding and reckless driving are problems near the high school area, with a 5 mph limit often ignored. Traffic was leaving the school after a church softball game.
