Representatives from four lodges in the Northwest District of the State Elk Association met at Corry lodge host yesterday. 85 ladies accompanied their husbands at a VFW Club gathering, followed by a 210 served buffet lunch under the Corry House Committee. State president Barney L Wents attended among other officials. Another brief item reports Evelyn R Albrecht 54 of Charlottesville Va died at St. Francis Hospital from injuries in a Pennsylvania Turnpike crash ten days earlier in Bedford County.

The Hazel Clark Company power plant in the Third Ward reported an unusual accident when the crank shaft on the main steam engine generator broke just after midnight causing extensive damage. No one was nearby and no employees on duty were injured. A Corry PTA Council free clinic at the Municipal Building examined 47 children slated for fall school entry. Guy Butters of the city continues his golf career at Washington and Jefferson College after a match between previously undefeated teams.

Presi dents fall to Pittsburgh 5 1 in scoring game
The Presidents managed the only point but lost to the University of Pittsburgh by five to one.
