Presbyterians Call New Pastor to Church
Rev. Gilbert S. Boyd of Battle Creek Mich has been extended a unanimous call to become pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. The congregation endorsed the pulpit committee’s recommendation at a Friday night meeting after his morning and evening sermons. The church has been vacant since Rev Roger W. Cressey resigned to go to Illinois. Rev Thomas Dickson of Warren presided as moderator.

Wing of Large Plane Catches Fire Midflight
A Newari report recounts an Eastern Air Transport flight from Richmond to New York that developed wing fire 15 minutes after takeoff from Washington at 1500 feet. In Cloarfield Pennsylvania on May 16 seven youths trapped for 10 hours after a cave in were rescued. Cleveland Man and Daughter Burned to Death in Crash
Erie, May 16 Automo bile accidents killed three persons in this district in the last 24 hours, including a Cleveland broker William Leahey aged 47 and his daughter Marguar ite, 18, who burned to death after their car struck a tree near Springfield. Police said Leahey probably fell asleep at the wheel. Miss Leahey was burned beyond recognition. The girl had just finished infantile paralysis treatment. Henry Brumagin, 55, of Union City died after being struck by a car on the Waltsburg road while walking to his bar from a nearby garage, according to police.
