Washington awaits a detailed report from General Clark after a claims officer allegedly had no right to accept charges. The sawdust note adds that Communists are using the agreement for propaganda in truce negotiations.
General Mark Clark repudiated the Colson agreement with Red prisoners on Koje Island saying it has no validity. He cited exchanges between Brig Gen Colson and Campout 76 officials as propaganda and noted investigations show prisoner deaths occurred during riots, not as policy, while U S authorities insist prisoners are treated humanely.
Harrisburg reports the purchase of Tankenny Hospital in Philadelphia for 1 250 000 dollars to treat about 500 tuberculosis patients in the Quaker City area. Gov John S. Fine announced the deal. Dr Russell Teague, State Health Secretary, says plans call for about 800 beds with initial 10 beds ready, aiming for full capacity within a year.

Police pursued Umstead who was driving a Plymouth sedan on North Center Street. He allegedly crossed into oncoming traffic, forcing another vehicle toward a parked car near Sir Elizabeth's Cemetery. The car belonged to Ruste Linelquist of 104 Park Street. Umstead was cited for reckless driving.
New York reports indicate up to fifty police officers may be facing job and pension disputes after the Flurry Gras case testimony. Four co-defendants in a departmental trial for graft were awaiting decisions on pension eligibility as Lieut Thomas J. Evans was ousted a day before expected retirement. Additional charges were prepared against dozens more officers following Gross testimony linking protection money to police.
