Memorial Day Parade Plans Move Forward Here
Lieut Archie W Thompson Post Veterans of Foreign Wars calls meeting Thursday at the post home West Washington street to finalize Memorial Day arrangements. Poppy Day sale May 24 aims to raise 3000 poppies under Rev Lyle D Otts as commander with drum and bugle corps from Brie aiding. School children, Boy Scouts and local clubs to march from Senior High to City Park at 9 20 AM with many groups urged to join.

An enjoyable card party under the Lillian Guild was held last evening in the Parish hall with eight tables. Awards at bridge went to Mrs. Ben F Starr and Miss Ina Austin. A committee led by Mrs. G S Peete served ice cream cake and coffee. Proceeds aid Emmanuel Episcopal church.

Ridgway Manhunt After Bold Hold Up Near Kessler Garage
Police in Ridgway and vicinity search for a 25 year old slickly dressed man in a Pontiac coupe who attempted a holdup at the Kessler Garage on the St Marys road after six yesterday afternoon. Clyde Miller dodged the pistol as the robber demanded money and Miller fled into the woods before reaching town with a ride from an Atlantic Refining Company truck.
