The Rev Rene Merriman pastor of the Corry Nagarene church and Mrs Merriman will attend the eleventh quadrennial assembly of the Church of the Nazarene in Minneapolis Municipal Auditorium June 1 to 20. The assembly opens with a communion service led by Dr J W Goddwin General Superintendent. Preceding sessions will cover Nazarene Youth Movement and National Women's Foreign Mission Society conventions. Major topics include expansion of foreign missions with plans to send 100 new missionaries and raise one million dollars annually. A central seminary is under consideration and a commission will present recommendations. General officers will be elected June 21.

Jamestown May 13 Local 882 United Auto Workers voted to end the unauthorized strike at JN Marlin Rockwell bearing plate plant. Production resumed, with 30 percent of morning shift returning first and full operation expected soon after a six day shutdown. War Labor Board had warned penalties could follow if the strike continued.
Miss Jane McLeod, 93, injured Wednesday morning when a seven passenger automobile crashed into a fire hydrant in Lindy Township, died yesterday at DuBois Hospital. Death cited as a fractured skull. coroner Dr. E.S. Erhard impaneled a jury to view the body and indicated an inquest will be held.
