Time to Live investor break threatens democracy
Babson outlines a crisis of private investment versus public spending and rising taxes. He argues wages lag inflation, bank salaries lag a decade, and public servants swell the burden, risking private capital and democratic values. He urges free markets, purge of resistors from voting lists, and renewed national resolve before Axis systems prevail. A later note recounts a Cal High tennis court paused by a cow on completion.

Sir Kingsley Wead said in the House of Commons that cannons were being produced on a considerable scale. The cannon is a development of Hispano-Suiza motor cannon, mass produced in a new English factory. The gun, originally in France, fires shells weighing nearly one pound at about 900 rounds a minute with explosive incindiary or tracer shells.
