Area Man Severely Burned in Rubbish Fire Explosion
TITUSVILLE-A Titusville area man was severely burned Tuesday night when a rubbish pile he was burning exploded in his face. Andy Bosak of Titusville is in serious condition at the Hamot Medical Center Burn Center in Erie. He was taken there by the Oil Creek Valley Ambulance Service on a transfer from Titusville Hospital. Mrs. Bosak said the burning started about 8 30 p m. when something in the rubbish exploded and engulfed him. Firefighters investigated and the state police fire marshal was called in. Bosak reportedly suffered third degree burns over a large portion of his body including face and head. An alkaline substance was found on his body and officials speculate a can of drain cleaner may have exploded.
