Warren borough council passed a disability pension plan for Fire Chief C A Albaugh and a street department worker. The plan provides 50 percent lifetime pay at retirement with eligibility at 65 and 25 years service. It targets those not eligible for social security.
The Rest Home for Ladies at the old Page homestead three miles east of Columbus opens with private rooms in a country setting for elderly women convalescing from surgery or illness announced by Mrs. Merle Pree. John Charant ing of Scranton Pa pleaded guilty to causing death by auto in a highway accident that killed 10 members of one family in Belvidere New Jersey.
Erie James Luce of Oswego New York and a former Titsville resident received one to three years in Western Penitentiary after beating Grace Davis at her home in Erle on February 2 1952. Judge Elmer S Evans noted Luce's need for medical attention and showed reluctance to grant leniency as three additional drivers who pleaded guilty were also sentenced.
Vance McQuain of Waterford and William Edwards of Erie received $100 fines and two days in jail for drunken driving. Ed ward Heynoski of Erie drew $100 fine and one day in jail. George Albert Lupin of Erie pleaded guilty to molesting a 14 year old girl and was sentenced to eight months to two years in the Allegheny County Workhouse with a $50 fine. Joseph Jackson of Syracuse molested a girl and received one to two years in the workhouse.
