Under command of Sergeant James Boyls the group departed for Port Slocem to join the regular army as part of ongoing efforts to fill units. The enlistment included Floyd, Burger, Erle, Clinton, White, Ire, Samnolis, Broughton, Cranpavitin, Tay Aibaligi, Enat Hlekory and others.
The Presbyterian Ladies met for the regular monthly session yesterday afternoon in the church. A social hour followed the business meeting during which members visited and sowed. A tureen supper was served in the chapel with gentlemen in attendance. The next meeting will be hosted at Mrs. B. C. Barnes’ home before the summer vacation.
