State seeks injunction for extra gasoline in Pennsylvan ia
Pennsylvania seeks 47.5 million gallons from the Federal Energy Administration to offset a miscalculation of its March allocation. A preliminary injunction hearing is set for May 15 in U S District Court Philadelphia. The action notes May allocations give PA 90 percent of base period 1972 supplies, while other states hit over 100 percent. The suit argues FEA should distribute gasoline more evenly to ease East Coast prices tied to foreign crude. The filing amends a March lawsuit claiming gas companies were shortchanged in Pennsylvania and prices stayed as high as 10 cents above other states.
