Darrel W. Bailey, 70, of Smethport and former McKean County Home resident, died Sunday at the Veterans Administration Hospital Erie after a three month admission. Born November 30, 1895 in New York City, raised in Shinglehouse, he served in the U.S. Army 1918 to 1919, then moved to Curry.

Two young motorists died in a traffic collision near New Bethlehem in Clarion County. Roger Lindenpitz, 19, of Rimersburg, perished at the scene on Route 861. Lee Minich, 20, also of Rimersburg, died several hours later at Brookville Hospital.

Plane crash kills state official and family near Normalville
