Anniversary Honors and Society Events at Local Presbyterian Church

Merle Capwell and his wife were feted at a golden wedding open house at First United Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall attended by over 175 friends and relatives. The same week Epsilon Phi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi held a meeting at a Hare Creek road home with plans for a June rummage and bake sale and talk of a going away dinner for members. Events included Mother’s Day activities by the Women’s Relief Corps at Corry Grange Hall, new member initiation, and a May 21 meeting date. A linen shower honored Mary Walsh, bride elect of James Jackman, with awards, gifts, and a host of local and out-of-town guests. The gathering drew attendees from multiple towns and states, with many floral tributes and a three-tier anniversary cake.
