Use of Vote Machines for Primaries
Voting machines will be employed at the Spring primary on May 15. Voters should study the sample ballots and follow three steps: move the red handle to close curtains and unlock the machine, lower the voting pointers for each chosen candidate, then return the handle to the left to register the vote and reopen the curtains. Voters are confined to their party’s candidates, may change votes while in the curtained booth, and no votes are recorded until exit. Sample ballots with candidate locations are available at polling places to speed voting and reduce confusion.
