Western Pennsylvanians to Get Gas Ration Relief
Rep Samuel Wels of Allegheny County says the War Production Board will soon remove western Pennsylvania and West Virginia from the Eastern Seaboard gasoline market district. The move would let the region export its own output with less shipping to other areas as eastern rationing begins May 16. Wels notes the change should ensure rationed gasoline reaches workers and defense plants in the region. A meeting with officials and business groups was planned in Pittsburgh.
