Missionary convention ends as nearly one hundred delegates attend
The thirty first annual meeting of the Woman's Foreign Missionary Society of the Presbytery opened at the Presbyterian Church with about a hundred delegates. Dr A L Wiley lectured on India and foreign mission opportunities, urging more workers and funds. Delegates registered from Bradford, Warren, Union City, Mercer, Jamestown, Cambridge Springs, Green Ville, Girard, North East, North Hash, and other towns as the ongoing convention concluded later in the day.

The lake steamer City of Tome owned by Roy Mitchell of Cleveland burned off Ripley New York at dawn as it carried grain from Buffalo to Toledo. Fifteen crew members abandoned ship as flames engulfed the vessel after a two hour effort to control the fire. Captain Dunn ordered abandonment at high water to reach shore safely.

Mrs Canby Dies After Brief Illness At Local Hospital
Mrs J P Canby died last evening at Cor fy Hospital after a several year invalid condition. She became seriously ill with bronchial pneumonia two days earlier and was moved to the hospital in the afternoon where she passed away. She is survived by her husband J P Canby and two domestics, and leaves several siblings. Funeral details were not available at press time.
