A head-on collision on Route 139 near Union City hospitalizes two. George Lay 17 from Spring Creek and Teddy Nichols 42 from Union City were the drivers. Mrs Nichols, Mary Linbach and Lay received injuries and treatment, with Nichols and Linbach released after care. Investigators consider possible charges.
Cuban exile Miguel A. Suarez warned at a Catholic men’s convention that Cuban Communists seek to ordain the death of God in Latin America. He said religious prosecution has begun in Cuba and accuse officials of erasing God from minds to create a brain-washed population.
Corry area seniors and juniors plus guests enjoyed a well organized post prom party at the VFW arranged by a dedicated volunteer committee. Four hundred chairs were needed with some students in the hall at times. Police reported the event as the most orderly ever, with no incidents or arrests. A small number left town, and breakfast was served before dawn.
Aero-Flow Dynamics Inc announces realignment of the Aero-Corry Division staff under J. E. Flickinger with Ted Pain named vice president for sales of the newly organized defense products group. R. B. Forrester becomes chief engineer of the Aero-Corry Avion. United States Steel Foundation plans to donate 2 775 000 to 732 colleges universities and 27 organizations this year to foster excellence in education.
The Corry Loyalty Day parade will leave City Park tomorrow at 1 p m traveling south on North Center street. It will include at least 32 units with possible additional entries and be followed by Loyalty Day ceremonies at the VFW Post on West Washington street. The route moves south from the park on Center street west on West South street and north on First avenue. Disbanding occurs at the VFW. Division 1 lists Corry VFW Colors and Corry American Legion Colors with dignitaries including Mayor J Fred Kinley and State Senator William Lesler. Division 2 features Northwest County Council VFW and Corry VFW leaders with the Corry Atex High School Band and scouts. Division 3 is led by the Coleman Band of Union City and includes school patrol, Civil Air Patrol, and fire department. Division 4 follows local youths on bikes then Corry National Guard and auxiliary units. Continued on Page Two.
