Italy plans to formally annex Ethiopia on Saturday with Benito Mussolini expected to reject international settlements on the Ethiopian question. The Chamber of Deputies reportedly would approve a bill authorizing annexation as a primary move in the crisis.
The Pennsylvania House approved eight emergency tax measures on first reading to raise about 77.65 million dollars in one year for unemployment relief flood control and related needs. The House also approved 21 million for immediate unemployment relief to cover May through July. Funds now available will be exhausted Monday as the Senate had adjourned.
