Miss Minnie Kraft of St Marys Pa sues builder C Brehm for 50000 alleging breach of promise to marry. She states engagement since 1918 and his marriage to Katherine Greitel of St Marys on April 23 1930. Attorneys Driscoll and Gregory of St Marys represent Kraft.
The Corry club held a regular meeting at the home of Mr and Mrs Harold Carr with sixteen members present. A rummage sale plan was set with proceeds aiding the scholarship fund. Lillian Guild will host a June birthday dinner at the Parish Hall. A one act play entertained, awards were given during the spiral hour, and next meeting is June 2 at Miss Harriet Myers’ home with Mrs Carr in charge.
United Press reports Mt Lebanon police chief Charles C Bald win dismissed at a stormy Mt Lebanon council meeting attended by about 500 citizens. Following the vote petitions circulated to remove three township commissioners who voted to fire him. After the vote, 400 protesters moved to the school hall for an open forum while board members Seeck Witte and Clatty departed under guard amid jeers.
Warren borough May 6 A disastrous house of flames struck the Blanche King McKlintock building on Pennsylvania Avenue West shortly after four. The fire started in a basement room used for paper storage where 32 bales lay burning, producing dense smoke that enveloped the structure. Fire crews used two trucks and the combination hook and ladder, working over an hour to extinguish the blaze while classes in the second room, led by Miss Margaret Callahan, were disrupted.
