Two homes sustained damage in separate blazes during a busy Corry weekend. Rev. G. B. Morgan’s home on East Main Street suffered about 400 dollars in damage from a chimney spark. George Hurlbut’s home at Raymann Avenue and East Wayne Street saw around 500 dollars in damage mainly to the bathroom after a fire under the bathroom floor. A grass fire near Fifth Street caused no major damage, and another grass blaze on the west end was minor. Authorities urge precautions to prevent such fires, noting one Saturday bonfire by children contributed to damaged trees.
