Olean Man Shot to Death Near Reed Home
Tony Minnite aged 35 was shot in a revolver duel in front of Joseph Reed’s Spruce Street residence in Olean’s North End. Police found Minnite with a 92 caliber revolver in his hand and 45 caliber shells in the yard, suggesting he fired back as he was struck. Coroner Burdick took charge. neighbors heard the shot but stayed inside. Minnite, a single man with a steady work record, had lived in the city for years.
