Ludwig Misen ta, a 47 year old German native registered as an enemy alien, is held in Meadville jail for thirty days while federal officials review his case. Employed at the Erie R R roundhouse he later worked as a brakeman before traveling four miles from home without permission, drawing police suspicion due to his railroad knowledge.

The Liberty Loan poster contest grows with votes tallied by Sunday. Sunday School members and friends flood ballots to back posters and win the Liberty Loan Cup. Government lithographs are shown in the Cameron block window as part of the display.
The Corry High School commencement will be in the Fish School auditorium on Monday evening June 10. A Whitly class will receive Aptos and the laureate address will be delivered by Rev. Dr RL Foulke at the West ME Church on Sunday June 9. The Alumni Association banquet is set for Tuesday evening June 11. Mrs. FB Whittlesey has returned from Philadelphia after a medical stay at the Medico-Chirurgical Hospital with Mr. Whittlesey accompanying her.
The Third Liberty Loan oversubscription was reported as certain with Treasury totals showing substantial gains. Local Elks Lodge pledged support for the Red Cross drive and planned internal fundraising to aid the war effort amid favorable weather forecasts.
A Corry Rod and Gun Club Old Timers Shoot is planned for May 30. The event honors veterans with prizes including a gold taped bottom to a long-time shooter and a second prize starline award, with entries and club notes from Secretary Alverson.
