Driver Sets Jail Ablaze After Traffic Crash Arrest
Oil City police reported that Arthur A. Nichols of Titusville paid fines and costs totaling 237 dollars after a multi vehicle crash and a jail cell fire. He faced charges of public drunkenness failure to stop and identify and an added count of malicious mischief for setting a mattress on fire while awaiting arraignment. Fire crews quickly put out the blaze. The collision involved three vehicles. Nichols allegedly drove between two cars, clipping bumper damage to vehicles driven by Darwin Gotham and Virginia Kreger.
