Sub freezing temperatures hit the Deep South with more crop damage feared after earlier freezes. A Cambridge Springs woman died at the scene and a four year old boy died four hours later at St Vincent's Hospital after a two car collision on snow covered Route 19 near Mystic road south of Waterford. Six others were injured including two in a third vehicle.
Sheriff sale on April 24 at the county courthouse as Citizens National Bank of Corry forecloses on the Hotel Corry, a five story brick building with a $55,000 mortgage. Bid likely to be by the local bank, with a parallel creditors meeting on April 9 to decide on selling interior furnishings not covered by the mortgage.
Algerian based aviator Geraldine Mock of Columbus Ohio continues her solo round the world journey departing from Casablanca for Cairo after arriving yesterday in her Bagive Godhnay aircraft.
City Treasurer Carlton Smith reports the new parking meter system shows rising income. February meter collections climbed from 738 last year to 1,794 this year, aided by higher rates and a meter maid. Violations payments also rose from 1,155 in March 1963 to 2,058 this March, though the meter take grew more slowly.
