Shantz and Power Could Boost Athletics in 1954

Philadelphia Athletics may add more new faces this season as Bobby Shantz and Vic Power threaten to spark a rebound in the American League. If both perform, Oakland could surprise by fueling a late push with Gus Zernial, Eddie Joost reshaping the lineup amid a Cubs manager shakeup and a broader swing for improved offense and defense.
