Seek Funds For Animal Shelter

MEADVILLE a campaign for funds to help with contraction of Crawford County's new animal refuge is under way. The facility will house 70 animals on Mercer Pike in Vernon Township on land already purchased by the Crawford County Humane Society. It will serve as an animal control shelter for adopters and for pets found by dog lovers or those bothered by free roaming dogs and cats. Indoor runways will reduce noise and odors. An euthanasia chamber will handle unclaimed or unadoptable animals after a set time.
