Two Children Drown as Bridge Collapses at North Warren
A swing bridge near Warren Atule Hospital collapsed while thirteen youths aged 12 to 18 played on it. Marguerite Tahir 13 and Norma Nielsen 14 drowned. several others were rescued as the current swept victims into Conewango Creek. Lifesaving crews fought to revive the drowned but were unsuccessful. Residents and rescuers, including Phil Herron of North Warren, aided in rescuing four survivors who recovered. Continued on Page Two.

Steals Second Auto At Spartandburg After Collision
A local man in Crawford County evaded police after wrecking two autos near Spartansburg. The suspect stole a Chevrolet sedan from Merrill Patterson on Center Street at 7 30 p m Sunday and also took a fan belt from Miss Kelveth Boyd’s car. The chase ended when the thief crashed at the Spartansburg railroad crossing, injuring no one but causing about 400 in damage. A posse formed to pursue the thief and recover stolen items.

No date set for murder inquest near Route 6 death
No date has been set for an inquest into the death of Metro Seminuk, killed by an unknown slayer at a service station along Route 6 between Youngsville and Pittsfield Thursday night. Semimul’s service was held at 3 o’clock yesterday at his home, Rev. Paul Hritzay of Columbus officiating. Interment followed in the Greek cemetery about four miles from the home. Officials continue to pursue numerous clues as relatives hold to the belief Semin had no known enemies.
