Pine Warbler Traits and Pine Forest Habitat

The Pine Warbler, guardian of pine woods, seldom leaves pines, tracing distribution with pine belts in the South and northern pine regions. In winter they form small flocks among Myrtle and Magnolia Warblers, feeding mainly on ground insects then shifting to branches and needles in summer. Sometimes called Pine Creep for ground-hunting crawl, their song is soft and soothing, and they subsist largely on pine seeds, tolerating longer stays than other warblers.
