Hold Mayor For Extortion and Bribery
Johnstown mayor Herbert Pfuhl Jr. was ordered held for grand jury action after a preliminary hearing on charges of conspiracy theft by extortion and bribery. Former city employee Joseph Tighe said Pfuhl demanded $1,000 to keep his job and Pfuhl paid it to Dominick Genovese, who faces conspiracy charges. Pfuhl's nominal $1 bond was continued.
