Anti-Busing Plans Hurt School Bill Prompts Senate Tangle
The House passed a large school aid bill with antibusing amendments that could derail it in the Senate. One measure would limit federal courts and require alternatives before busing, while another would bar using federal funds for busing. Rep. Perkins warned the changes risk defeating the bill. Rep. Ashbrook led the funding ban. Additional local notices follow from Harrisburg and community events and condolences across the region.
