Salaman ca Erie shop changes prompt service shift
Erie Railroad official B J Edmunds denies mass closures at Salamanca shops but cites an April 1 change that could reduce shop forces. Six fast freights will bypass Salamanca shops, routing through Hornell and Meadville, while twelve engines now serviced locally will no longer enter the shops. Five passenger trains already run through with N2 or N3 engines and no new through passenger trains are planned.
