Woman shoots down bank holdup by fired janitor
AP reporting says Thomas A. McNicholas, 68, a former school janitor, admitted attempting to rob the Delaware County National Bank Chester Branch. He was arrested hours after the failed attempt and released on bail pending April 9 hearing. Mrs Katherine Lewis foiled the heist by remaining calm at the teller window.

Indictment in Mail Swindle Charges 13 Men
A Pittsburgh area man William T P Shea of Saxton Pa named in a 30 count indictment by a District of Columbia grand jury on mail fraud for a 330000 swindle. Prosecutors say 30 victims from Vermont to Texas paid advance fees for loan help in a scheme run by Commercial Finance Services Corp. About 900 businessmen were swindled from May 1958 to August 1959.
