Canton Georgia March 27 reports say a cyclone like wind swept through the hills near Orange causing extensive damage. Four family members were killed and eight were injured two seriously. At least five dwellings were destroyed as mayor EB McGarness placed the carnage at several hundred yards of destruction. William Millwood aged 59 and his wife and two children were found dead in their ruined home.
Miss Mary A. Roe, 80, was found dead in the Ketenen of her West Spring Creek home Monday afternoon. A heart attack is suspected after she was located by local schoolchildren in the kitchen while preparing noon meal. Coroner Wd. Lowrey of Warren ruled death from natural causes. Survived by a sister in West Virginia and a niece, Mrs. Al Jacobs of this city. Funeral set for Thursday at 2 from the late-home.
Testimony showed Tony Harnischfegey, watchman at St Francis dam, knew the structure was unsafe but feared losing his job if he spoke. The coroner's jury, nine engineers, resumed its inquiry into the dam's collapse. The watchman drowned. William Hoke said Tony feared to talk and warned others he knew the danger.
General Motors fell sharply from open, sliding to a low near 180 and dragging other motor shares down. A late rally lifted most issues, with Radio Corp rising from a slump to around 184 and several names like DuPont and GE recovering later. The College Women's Club met at Mrs. Clarence C. Loveland's home for an evening of entertainment and planning. A benefit card party is set for April 24 at the Masonic Temple to raise funds for the club scholarship fund. The Dramatic division presented a one act play Rosalie with several members contributing, while Miss Tuclle Murray accompanied on piano. Light refreshments were served and the April meeting date was amended to April 23 at a different location.
The Corry Woman's Club Cures Events Department will meet on Wednesday at 10 o clock with Mrs G T Kinosld on North Center Street for the regular gathering as members are asked to attend.
A northern storm system brought gales to the Atlantic Seaboard and thunderstorms from the southern lake region to the Gulf. Temperatures dropped from the Missouri Valley to the Appalachians, but the weather bureau forecast generally fair conditions tonight and tomorrow for the eastern United States.

A serious crash occurred at the Roosevelt Highway subway crossing in Columbus around 1 pm when two cars collided on the curve approaching the underground crossing. George P. Miller of Steubenville Ohio drove a Hudson. Ann B. Erickson of Wilkinsburg Pa. drove a Nash with her husband aboard. Both vehicles were badly damaged but no injuries except Mrs Erickson suffered shock. The cars were towed to the city and occupants taken to the Hotel Corry.
Rev J A Martin former pastor and ex member returns from Westfield to address Rotary Club at Hotel Corry. His talk drew on Dr Conwell Acres of Diamonds to illustrate father son relations. Guests included Rev W B Bartlett Rev R Akers and Rev I H Campbell plus Dr Mosier and several sons of members.
William Deyo, a Raymond Manufacturing Company employee, fell from a ladder at the plant shortly before noon today. He struck his side and fractured his right hip, was shaken, and taken to Corry Hospital where Dr. John C. Kibler attended him. His condition was described as somewhat improved in the afternoon. FO. Howard returned home today from a day’s visit in Warren.
