A Sterling gas station at Ith and Liberty streets was broken into early Monday. A safe was opened and money stolen, estimated between 90 and 100 dollars. Entry was gained by sunshining and window frame removal. The door was removed by swinging bolts.

City and Vicinity Burglary Suspect Arrested in Meadeville
Police say Charles Daniels, 19, of the city, waived examination on a burglary charge after nearly three months of investigation into a Hammond Garage break in. A small safe was moved but proved heavy, and an automobile from the site was recovered. Daniels was held for the grand jury at the county jail in Little Valley.

Police seek Herbert Hoover runaway from Kane
Police report a missing 18 year old Herbert C Hoover son of Rev E W Hoover of Kane presumed runaway. He may have visited relatives in Meadville while a bicycle collision elsewhere injured a 10 year old boy and a woman near Arch and South Main in Fredericksburg. Four Thousand GI Brides Won't Rejoin Husbands
Associated Press reports London March 38 that the U S Army Transport Command said 4000 brides who sought transport to join American servicemen would not sail as time neared. Many did not complete required questionnaires and 7000 British women who courted American servicemen had not registered. About 18,000 have already sailed.

Accidental Rifle Wound Fatal for Young Gorby
In Wayne County near Dittletown West Virginia a boy, Harry Richard Gorby aged 8, died after an accidental 22 caliber rifle wound at his father’s home. The injury occurred when a cousin picked up the rifle used by a grandfather to shoot at dogs. The death followed at Gresne County Memorial Hospital. Also reported, Pierre Huck Harlinan, 25, center for the Youngstown Bears, died of pneumonia after a relapse from influenza at Bubl Hospital in Sharon.
