Hess Evidence Of Secret Pact Not Revealed At Trial
Rudolf Hess defense failed to read excerpts of a purported secret treaty between Germany and Russia before the Soviet prosecutor objected. The court withheld the documents, arguing translation and submission to the prosecution were required. The alleged accord reportedly suggested spheres of influence in Eastern Europe and touched on Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Finland in three days before the Nazi attack on Poland.
