Board Discusses School Operations With Concord P T A

A Concord building gathering brought Board of Education members Dearing Bennett and Henton with and the P T A seeking parent input on school operation and course offerings. British naval officer slain in Cork murder car case

Cork Ireland March 25 guards across southern Ireland hunted a murder car used by four men who escaped after drilling. Vice Admiral Henry Boyle Somerville aged 12 lived at Castletownshend was a distinguished British naval officer. Clues included tire marks before his home and a poster reading British recruiting post tossed on the car. The killing tied to Somerville active in recruiting for the navy.

Guardsmen Leave Johns Town Amid Flood Evacuation

Guardsmen began departing flood stricken Johns town today. About eight hundred were scheduled to leave the city with unclear inclusion of Company A. It is believed the entire 112th infantry will be home by week’s end.

Anthracite Mining Contracts Extended in New York

The joint negotiating communities for the anthracite industry announced that contracts have been extended until May 1. The move postpones a threatened strike by about 106,000 miners in Pennsylvania. The committee, representing operators in the United Mine Workers of America, had been at work for several weeks. negotiations continue to reach a compromise.

Guardsmen Leaving Flood District as WPA Cleans Debris

Harrisburg March 25 Military assistance was withdrawn from many Pennsylvania towns as WPA workers pressed flood cleanup. Refugees returned home but water shortages hindered efforts in Harrisburg and other cities. Edward N. Child's Arm Crushed In Electric Wringer

Two year old Dixie Phillips daughter of Mr and Mrs Harry Phillips of 3471 West Washington Street received painful injuries yesterday afternoon when her arm was caught in an electric wringer at home. She was taken to Corry Hospital for treatment. bones were not broken, condition uncertain.
