Paul Gerry DeRosy of Corry Massachusetts born April 17 1897 served in the Harvard Unit of the American Ambulance Corps in France and Italy reporting from the western front and a mission to the Italian front He enlisted in June 1917 delaying Harvard graduation to join the service and was sent to Allentown Pennsylvania and later to France where he remained in uniform amidst heavy fighting at the front.

Man shoots self after threat of divorce

Charles McCauley, 37, of 1904 Poplar Street, allegedly fired a .48 caliber pistol in his bedroom after his wife told him she would leave him. He was taken to St Vincent's Hospital, where attendants said he would recover. Police reported the incident followed a domestic dispute and a violent confrontation before the self-inflicted wound.
