Will Amend Clark Bill After City Protest

Mayor Alexander and City Solicitor Kincaid returned from Harrisburg to report success in pushing an amendment to the Clark bill. State Senator Henry A. Clark agreed to introduce changes before it reaches the Senate, including a new lower salary class under ten thousand that reduces mayor and council salaries, with council members at three hundred dollars and the mayor at one hundred dollars. Corry officials expect the amendment to pass the House for safety, while the Clark bill would pay that class one term of office, benefiting small towns holding charters.
