Purchasing Agent Saves EC 3000 in Printing Costs
Erie County Commissioner Chairman William O Hill Jr. said county purchasing agent Fred Tomassi saved taxpayers about 3000 by printing 1200 contract books at the courthouse. Tomassi noted bids exceeded 3000 yet the work cost about 200 in the county reproduction department. County Personnel Director James Casey said the county is un-ionized and the savings did not violate any labor mores. The union books cover four contracts under the AFSCME agreement.
