Corry and Union City Western Auto stores change hands after long ownership by Lopus. Ronald L. Barstow of Union City to run the Cory store soon after training. Emery E. Clough buys Union City outlet where he has worked since 1941. Barstow led a 20 year association with the firm. Lopus receives 20 year service plaque as a community contributor remains undecided about future plans.

An explosion at a Robbins area mine near Oneida Tennessee killed nine men all related by blood or marriage. Witness W O West survived. victims include Oscar West Burl Phillips and his sons Hubert and Arzo, Bernard, William Yancey, John L Pike Elmer Phillips and Ed Chitwood. The blast followed turning off the ventilating system amid gas buildup.
Senate investigators question alleged mobster Carlos Marcello and underworld figure Mickey Cohen as the labor management committee searches for evidence of a interstate racketeering conspiracy. Witnesses link Marcello to public official corruption in Louisiana while Cohen claims severing ties with crime.
Corry ministers announce a three hour Good Friday service at the First Methodist Church from noon to 8 pm orchestrated by the Corry Ministerial Association. In Vomuna New Jersey a driverless car suddenly sped forward after two women Mrs Elizabeth M Hardy 71 and Mrs Helen M Davis 59 were helped into the vehicle by James Waters 33 of Camden. The car lurched and struck a basement wall at a federal housing project in East Camden killing both women as Waters chased it. Police said the motor was running in gear and one woman may have stepped on the accelerator by accident. Waters fell unconscious upon learning of the women’s deaths.
Aero Supply Min. Co. Inc reported earnings of 461,227 for 1968, up from 208,457 in 1967, while total sales reached 4,140,800, aided by the Wing Division sale in 1967 and increased engineering spending to boost future growth. The company warned of prior-year operating losses and noted a substantial backlog, including a $600,000 order for spare airplane parts, with continued dividend payments totaling 20 cents so far.
Members of the YMCA board approved five new committee chairmen for the coming year. Appointees include Rev. Pat P. Connelsville Pennsylvania AP reports two men Joseph Brace 52 of Pittsburgh and Ervat Ferlo 58 of Republic were bound over for county land jury action on charges of running a gambling establishment at the St James Park Country Club near Dawson. Alderman Carmen V Molinaro ordered both men held and released on 500 bond after a statewide raid that arrested 37 people. the remaining visitors did not appear for the hearing.
Nel Moss a 20-year-old Oxford freshman and amateur explorer died in Britain’s deepest cave after nearly two days trapped 1,000 feet underground. Rescue attempts failed as teams worked through a tight funnel shaft with oxygen, while companions faced breathing hazards and dangerous conditions in Devil’s Hole, Derbyshire.
Three men and a woman believed among four who escaped from a Youngstown Ohio jail yesterday held up a Maynville service station today and escaped with 50 dollars. The car used, with jail master keys, was found abandoned nine miles south of Raven. The group may have switched to a green station wagon. Lola Gordon 140 was noted as an accomplice facing burglary charges and receiving funds to travel to New York. The four escapees, all from Youngstown, include Robert P. Herman 26 Joseph Orville 28 and Donald Sweet 24. They overpowered guards and seized guard Willian Driskell briefly. Authorities said the escapees are parole violators.
The Erie firm rejected both unions in a collective bargaining election held March 20. The National Labor Relations Board reported official tallies: 12 votes for the General Teamsters, 60 for the United Rubber, Corks, Lunotenn and Plastic Workers of America, and 40 against any union. The employees are not represented by any union.

Lawrence Jewell of South Second Avenue faced a $600 bond after arraignment on a charge of driving while suspended. He was observed by State Police last week while driving. His cousin Frederick Jewell, 19, rode with him and was detained in Erie County to await parole board action for violating parole by association.
A collision near Burley Idaho involving a station wagon and a school bus killed four people. The victims were William Hollowell 22 Heyburn driver of the bus,hn Weasley Grinstead Jr 31 Rupert Idaho his wife Wanda Fern 23 and their two children Wesley II 15 and Wendy 3. Hollowell was treated for shock after delivering a busload of children and was returning to Burley.
