Two Rockview inmates David E. Beatty and Robert Reynolds filed a class action in U.S. District Court accusing Venango County Jail sheriff Edwin M. Thomas and warden of violating civil rights. They allege November 28 1976 to February 1 1977 confinement in deplorable, dungeon like cells lacking lighting ventilation and sanitation. Beatty says heroin withdrawal and lack of medical care occurred. he injured his wrist seeking treatment and endured days in a minimal cell.

Titusville patrolman Paul A. Repko, recently fired by City Manager Dennis Stuckey, will face Crawford County Civil Court on April 13. Stuckey demanded Repko resign by Jan. 12, citing a high speed chase on Nov. 14 in violation of a city rule.
