Local Farmers Join In D C Ag Discussion
Pennsylvania Farmers Association president John R. Pitzer urged countervailing duties against subsidized foreign dairy imports during a Washington legislative banquet attended by about 200 state farmers and lawmakers. He argued imports undermine U S dairy costs and demand stricter sanitary standards to match domestic rules while noting European subsidies persist. The event featured Erie county dairy farmers and PFA leaders, with participation from Congressman Joseph Vigorito and Senators Hugh Scott and Richard Schweiker.
