Wage Stabilization Board proposals spark steel industry backlash

They warned a 174 to 177 cent hourly increase plus a union shop would raise costs by about 30 cents per hour, potentially costing the industry a billion dollars annually. The industry called the proposals a backward step, saying they would derail stabilization efforts and impose costly terms on both sides.
