The last day of winter and first day of work on state highways in Warren County occurred today in 1918 as crews began milling dirt roads. The department aims to push road work toward Alaipe as soon as possible after a late winter start.
Twelve foremen in the county supervise portions of a 200 mile state road system. Roads run from Warren to New York via numerous towns including Warren to Sugar Grove and Warren to Pittsfield and Forest County, with connections to Corry and Garland.
