Neighbor Heroics Save Erie Girl From House Fire
A 1 year old girl Pamela Mahich was rescued from a third floor room as fire tore through a home in Erie. Neighbors David Rougeux and Bill Penpole used ladders to reach the attic, pulling the child to safety before she was taken to Hamot Medical Center for smoke inhalation and minor injuries. The blaze caused 3500 dollars in damages to the building and 800 dollars to the contents. Firefighter Vincent Palmer suffered second degree burns and was treated at Hamot.
