Erie motor club backs 1939 road plan to ease traffic
Erie March 24 The Erie Motor Club through president P C Bauschard endorses county highway improvements for the season. It urges deferring Route 6 Lake Road work until other projects finish and favors a staggered program with at least one main artery left open to ease traffic to New York World Fair. Club officials seek inclusion of unpaved sites in the year’s program totaling over 400 000 dollars.

Arraigned as parole violator in federal court
In Erie on March 21 two men, Leg F. Ferry and another, were arraigned before Judge F P Schoonmaker for probation violations. Ferry, of 012 East 21st Street formerly of Warren, Pa, had his probation revoked and was sentenced to 30 days in county prison. The probation officer said Ferry was a flagrant violator of nearly all terms.

Probation Extended for Paul Sova in WPA Check Case
Paul Sova of Russell Pennsylvania, listed with Volunteers of America, had his probation extended to the five year maximum after a prior three year term for theft forgery and conversion of a 38 dollar WPA check. He had earlier faced 1936 federal probation for forging an 80 dollar WPA check and, last year, violated probation with a burglary conviction in Breckinridge County Court. Sentenced to Huntingdon Reformatory and released, he was again under probation supervision with Judge Schoonmaster and Probation Officer Heller ton predicting he would stay straight.
